Download OpenOffice 3.0

By Ryan Kopf - Oct. 16, 2008

After waiting a few days for their servers to recover from the initial download-shock, now is a great time to download the latest version of OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org, which has the .org because the name OpenOffice is already trademarked, is a suite of free, open-source office tools, complete with a featureset as rich and powerful as Microsoft Office (at a savings of roughly $200).

Let me gloss over a few of the newest additions into the program, bringing into from 2.4 to 3.0. First, it is automatically designed to work with the Mac, without any special workarounds. Anyone with Linux, Mac, or PC (Windows) can use OpenOffice. It can automatically deal with Microsoft Office 2008 files, so opening .docx Word documents is a breeze. It also runs a bit faster and more efficiently than ever.

In short, download OpenOffice.org today!
